Special Education and Therapeutic Services COVID-19 Update

Special Ed And Therapy

Dear Parents/Guardians:

First and foremost, please know that we are all in this together and we are here for you. We understand that during the COVID-19 pandemic that there will be several questions and many unknowns regarding education and treatment for your child at Lakemary.

All special education services will continue to be provided as defined by the most current IEP. All related services and therapies will also continue as written. Special education services are provided under the supervision of a special education teacher. IEP data and progress reporting will continue as identified under the IEP. The change in schedule has had a less than 10% impact on the child’s total service minutes per week. All special education teachers at Lakemary are continuing to work daily in the classrooms. We have modified each teachers schedule; however, this does not impact service minutes for your child.

I assure you that your child is receiving educational and therapeutic services from our most dedicated staff at Lakemary. We will all get through this together. Your child’s education is of the upmost importance to us and we will do everything we can to ensure your child receives the educational services that they each deserve.

Please contact me directly if you have any additional questions. Thank you for continuing to share your child with us.

In education, Marcy
